Hedge of Myrtus Luma suffering die back.Soil ph 5.5 and moist. Have used Confidor now Zaleton. Still dying??

Hedge in Wagga Wagga about 12 yo: soil is clay after 300mm :Watered every night for 30mins with dripper at 4lts/hr:No signs of infestation.

Thank you for contacting Yates.

It sounds like the hedge is getting too much water there and is suffering from root rot.

Both the confidor and zaleton won’t assist there, but you can look at applying Yates Anti Rot as it is registered to target root rot in the hedge.

We would also recommend to hold off the watering as well and allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Aiming to keep the soil moist to lightly moist is best. Give the hedge a good feed of Dynamic Lifter Soil Improver and Plant Fertiliser as well to assist with its stress and improve health.
