Medium_red Photinia Red Robin, yellow/read leaves then leaf fall.

Every now and then the leaves do this and then fall off.
The leaf was previously Green coloured as normal, then it turns yellow around the outside while the centre turns red (again), even after it was green (I understand new growth is red.)
We've had a few red robins die, and they are quite "leggy", not much leaf on them. Any idea?

Answer: Hi Timothy,

Thank you for contacting Yates.

It is normal to see some leaf fall during winter. However, if the hedge is leggy and lack of foliage, it’s best to prune if back and feed regularly to help new growth. We recommend applying ‘Yates Dynamic Lifter Soil Improver and Plant Fertiliser’ as a complete, soil-conditioning fertiliser. It’s certified for use in organic gardens and will help create a nutrient rich soil for better root growth, stronger plants and more flowers and fruit! It can be used on gardens all year round, including native plants.

Hope this helps and happy gardening.

Best Regards,
Louise
