Zucchini - black like rott. What can I do to stop this?

I have zucchini's growing and the plant itself has grown great, lots of flowers producing fruit but then a couple of days later the fruit has started to go black like rotting. What can I do to stop this? Regards Helen

Answer: Hi Helen this could be blossom end rot where the fruit rots from the end backwards. It is caused by fluctuating soil moisture levels and possible a shortage of calcium. use garden lime when preparing soil (if it isnt already too alkaline) and keep soil evenly watered according to the weather.
