Is it safe to use sleepers treated with sump oil as the border for growing vegies?

My husband has made garden beds out of sleepers treated with sump oil? is this safe to grow vegetables in and would lining the beds with weed mat maker it safer?

Answer: Hi Jayne,

Many of the new sleepers are suitable for around garden beds as they have not been dipped in any products unsuitbale for vegetable growing. We would not recommend that sleepers dipped in sump oil be used need edible plants. Regards
