I have a lawn in western Qld with very hot summers and frosts in winter. A bush couch is outgrowing my preferred kykuyu lawn. Do i have remove all the couch and start again or can I over seed with some other

I would prefer kykuyu or a similar grass or is there a better couch that will outgrow the wild couch?
Sandy soil, plenty of sun, couch does not like the cold winter mornings and big frosts.

Answer: no easy way to remove the couch effectively without harming the kikuyu. suggest spray each patch with Zero glyphosate non-selective herbicide to kill both grasses. rake out dead thatch after 14 days or so, cultivate and replant kikuyu runners to cover the patches. lots of water and fertiliser will speed up the process.
