My dwarf orange eucalypt is having its new growth leaves eaten. Can you recommend something to protect it

Thank you for contacting Yates.

It sounds like it is a creature of the night causing the damage there. These can include possums or mice.

If there are chew marks on the leaves these are the likely culprits. To confirm this, head out the back in the evening with a torch and investigate any of the nocturnal visitors to your yard.

If it is possums the best way to control them is to use netting. This can deter them from getting on the plants. While the plants are also under attack it is also advisable to give them a feed with Dynamic Lifter Soil Improver and Plant Fertiliser. This will help with stress and provide them with nutrients to grow.
