This one also took a big hit during the last hot windy day. I have leaned a ladder against the wall for support. I draped chiffon over it. It sounds elegant but it wasn’t!  My Mum (Hi ho to Vegetables) uses a lot of shade cloth and that works. But if you want to grow indeterminate varieties that grow tall it is difficult to stake and shelter at the same time. I must say the easiest ones are the Yates Patio Tomatoes. I have grown them for several years now. An optional metre high stake is all you need. They have a chunky trunk – good root system and seem to tolerate the wind better than the others. I have grown them in the Yates self watering pots too with success as well as in raised garden beds.
