How to Grow an Avocado Tree
Smashed, smeared, or spooned straight from the fruit, Avocados have a place in everyone's breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. So, it makes sense to grow a tree or two in your backyard. But how long does it take to fruit? Grafted trees bought from the nursery can take up to 4-5 years to bear fruit. If you choose to grow an Avocado from seed, it can take up to 10 years and is unlikely to be the same variety as the one that was planted. If you want to plant a good fruit-bearing tree, it's best to start with a grafted tree instead. The most popular Avocado in supermarkets is Hass, but by growing your own, you can choose from a few other delicious varieties.
