We take a step back to 2015 when Kim Syrus - 'In the Garden' TV Presenter and Qualified Horticulturist – interviewed Julie Munn about the story of the Munns brand family history.
In the Garden is an exciting new local South Australian TV program on Channel 9 this Summer and next Autumn showcasing the best 'green' stories, achievements and innovations this state has to tell.
Hosted by Garden Guru – Kim Syrus, this week's episode (above) of In the Garden takes a trip down memory lane as Kim speaks directly with current owner, Julie Munn, and together they look at the iconic name Munns has become in the lawn industry over the past few decades and how it all began.
It all began in the 1940's when Munns Founder, Brian Munn started his own bakery business on Delaine Ave, Edwardstown and grew lawn out the back. He quickly realised that his lawn was receiving far better attention than his pies and pasties and Munns was founded in 1948.
A milestone moment in Munns history is the seeding of turf at the then, Football Park (AAMI Stadium in Adelaide) in the 1970's with help from the late Sir Mark Oliphant.
